Jordan Ovanic is organizing a food and supply drive to help support the efforts of Illinois Valley Animal Rescue (IVAR). Illinois Valley Animal Rescue is a not-for-profit corporation organized to prevent the cruelty to, rescue of, care for and relocation of stray & abandoned animals. Following is a wish list for IVAR:
- Canned dog food, any kind. This is one of IVAR’s biggest needs.
- Purina cat chow (blue bag). This is a really important one too.
- Liquid laundry detergent (any kind)
- Cat litter, clumping.
- Rope toys
- Cleaning supplies – bleach, paper towels, mops, etc.
- Toilet paper

Academic Summer Camps
Northern Illinois University is excited to announce their 2011 Academic Summer Camp line-up for students entering Grades 6-12. The following is being offered – Creative Writing Camp (both as a residential and day camp), STEM Career Investigations Camp, Film Camp, Speech Camp, Sci-Camp Engineer Amusement – Roller Coasters to Cotton Candy, Sci-Camp Environmental and Sustainability, and Global Leadership Camp.
Summer Camp Application Packets and Scholarship Form Packets are currently being accepted, the early bird deadline ends June 1.
