With the help of our Architectural Firm, Studio GC, we applied in 2010-2011 school year for the State Energy Grant and were notified that we had received the grant.  One of the things we wanted to address was the traffic noise and fuel fumes from the highway at the South building, so we will replace the UV units, which will allow us to close windows and keep our students air filtered.  At the North building we were approved for wind and solar energy conservation measures.  We will also be installing measuring devices that will allow the students to utilize the data and integrate the information into their curriculum.

The $350,000 grant was a 50 – 50 split. The other 50% will come from money we received from the state 6 to 7 years ago that was earmarked only for use on the buildings.  This makes the entire $350,000 project costs entirely state funded. We continue to keep our district student centered while remaining fiscally responsible.
