Mrs. Alvarado

Meet Mrs. Alvarado, Preschool Teacher

Mrs. Alvarado is an enthusiastic and dedicated educator, who is embarking on this exciting journey with our school district's first-ever preschool program. With a heart full of passion for early childhood education, Mrs. Alvarado is poised to make a lasting impact on our little learners.

Her first year as a preschool teacher was amazing and filled with learning and laughter. She brings fresh ideas and a nurturing approach to the classroom. Mrs. Alvarado has been in our district as a special education teacher for over 5 years and understands the significance of these formative years in shaping young minds and is committed to creating a warm and stimulating environment where children can thrive.

Play-Based Learning

Our curriculum emphasizes the importance of learning through play, allowing children to explore, create, and develop essential social and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging environment. Activities include dramatic play, small world play, art, building, literacy-based exploration, and fine motor skill development.

Kindergarten Readiness

We prepare your child for kindergarten by fostering foundational skills in literacy, numeracy, and critical thinking. Our goal is to ensure a seamless transition to elementary school, equipping your child with the tools they need for academic success.

Holistic Development

Our program is designed to nurture every aspect of your child’s development. We support emotional, social, and physical growth while fostering a love for learning that will last a lifetime.

Our Curriculum Highlights

Thematic Units

Each month, we introduce new thematic units designed to encourage creativity and play in a structured learning environment. Examples include themes like Back to School, Fall, Farming, Pumpkin Patch, Love and Kindness, and Animals.

Heggerty

A daily oral phonemic awareness curriculum that strengthens your child’s foundational literacy skills.

Fundations

Daily phonics instruction that builds letter recognition, formation, and other critical skills for kindergarten readiness.

Second Step

A social-emotional learning program featuring weekly lessons that teach sharing, problem-solving, and recognizing emotions.

Eureka Math

Hands-on math instruction that builds a deep understanding of foundational math concepts through engaging, interactive lessons.

Program Offerings

AM Preschool

This blended program, which includes special education and regular education students, is open to all 3 and 4-year-old students (must be 3 years of age on or before September 1st). This program is open to in and out-of-district students.  Please note that priority will be given to students that reside within the district boundaries. This is a tuition-based program that prepares students for their transition to kindergarten the following year.  

  • Days:  Monday through Friday (5 Days/Week)

  • Time: 8:05 am-10:35 am

  • Tuition:

    • In-District School Year 25/26 Tuition: $150

    • Out-of-District School Year 25/26 Tuition: $200

PM Preschool

This blended program, which includes special education and regular education students, is open to all 3 and 4-year-old students (must be 3 years of age on or before September 1st). This program is open to in and out-of-district students.  Please note that priority will be given to students that reside within the district boundaries.
